Bluebells started life as a Bull Pen with yard and a sheep house. Twelve years ago it was in a ramshackle state and so we set to work to join the two buildings and create Bluebells.
This cottage sleeps six. There is a double room, a twin bedroom and a bunk bedroom. The entrance is through a conservatory, into the living room which joins into the kitchen dinner. This is an airy, spacious room.
There is a log burner in the living room plus comfortable leather sofas and a large screen TV. The kitchen is fully equipped with a full size cooker, micro wave, dish-washer, washing machine, fridge and freezer, plus a table and chairs for six and all the utensils and crockery that we think you may require. (Please do ask us if there is something you need as we will probably have one to hand!)
The double room and bunk room are on the same level but then there is a flight of three steps up to the twin bedroom and the bathroom, which has a bath, loo and sink, with an overhead electric shower in the bath. Unfortunately this means that this cottage is not wheelchair friendly. (Wisteria and Sweet Briar are more suitable for that.)
We hope that you find our linen and bedding comfortable and of good quality.
Outside there is a patio area with table and chairs and sun umbrella. From this cottage you can look out over some fields to the wood. We frequently have some of our animals in the fields and you can expect to have a daily visitation from the ducks as they make their way from the garden to the yard in hopes of a little snack about mid-day. There is a gravelled area to park your vehicles and and the whole site can be secured when the gates are shut, so if you bring a dog or two you can keep them safely with you.
We have three dogs and they are quite likely to turn up on your doorstep as soon as you arrive just to check you out! Please don’t be offended, and if you don’t want them to bother you don’t make a fuss of them and they will quickly get the message.
We live next door to this cottage and we are always around as the animals take a lot of looking after. We are delighted if you want to ask anything about the farm and are happy to introduce you to them all. The donkeys love some attention as do the goats, horses dogs and cats. The cattle and sheep are content to be viewed from the gate-way.
